Fridrich Kuhlau (1786-1832)本曲集第1巻に引き続くもの。オペラ『ルル』第2幕の第8曲、誘拐され囚われのシディが魔女たちに囲まれて布（間近に迫った魔法使いとの結婚式に着るべきシディのウェディングドレス）を織る場面で歌われる印象的な旋律。オーケストラでは弦楽器の摩擦音がハエの羽音を擬している。この曲を作曲し終えたクーラウがこのメロディを用いてピアノで即興していたとき、面前にクモが天井から降りてきたので慌ててとなりの部屋に逃げ込んだという逸話が残っている。デンマークではクモは幸運を運ぶものという伝説があることから、オペラ『ルル』の成功は疑いなしと予想されたとの事だった。
