Ernest Vital Louis Gillet (1856-1940) フランスのチェリスト及び作曲家。姓はフランス風にジエとも発音される。パリに生まれる。1874年パリ音楽院を卒業、パリオペラ座、コロンヌ交響楽団、ラムルー交響楽団、モンテカルロ交響楽団の首席チェロ奏者を歴任。オペレッタ｢ミシェル海の娘たち｣は大成功を収めた。映画音楽など手がけ、400曲以上の作品がある。この作品はピアノのために作曲されたものでシンコペーションのメロディが特徴的である。原曲はホ長調だが2度上行させ、ヘ長調に移調している。

Ernest Vital Louis Gillet (1856-1940) French cellist and composer. His surname is also pronounced Jie in French style. He is born in Paris. He graduated from the Paris Conservatory in 1874 and was the principal cellist of the Paris Opera, Colonnes Symphony Orchestra, Lamrou Symphony Orchestra and Monte Carlo Symphony Orchestra. His operetta "Daughters of the Michelle Sea" was a great success. He has worked on film music and has more than 400 songs. This work was composed for the piano and features a syncopated melody. The original song is in E major, but it has been ascended twice and transposed to F major.
